Trusted Towing & Repair Since 1985
Midwest Towing was founded in 1985 by Sam Shirley, who opened his first one-bay shop in Walnut, Iowa after earning his associate degree in automotive technology. With a passion for service and a commitment to quality, Sam quickly expanded the business, purchasing a three-bay garage in 1986. Over the past 30+ years, Midwest Towing has grown into a respected, family-run operation known for dependable towing, off-road recovery, and expert vehicle repair.
Today, our fleet includes two heavy-duty wreckers, a light-duty wrecker, and a light-duty flatbed truck. We've proudly completed over 12,000 tow and road service calls, serving our community with professionalism and care. Our operators are Wreckmaster and Miller Industries trained, ensuring every job is handled with skill and integrity.

These guys are great! My 88 year old FIL was driving solo cross country and had his fan belt suddenly break mid trip. There was no mechanic nearby but lady at a local gas station in Walnut recommended calling Midwest and they got the car repaired in a matter of hours! They didn’t overcharge, either.
